It is especially directed toward Phase 2 enzymes, which assist in the processing and removal of toxins from the body. Milk thistle extract has been shown to affect glutathione levels and aid in the regeneration of liver cells. R-alpha lipoic acid (the bioactive form) and N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC), are also involved in the regulation of glutathione. Sulforaphane Glucosinolate, from Broccoli, is a precursor to sulforaphane, an inducer of Phase 2 detoxifying enzymes. Artichoke extract supports glutathione levels and promotes bile production. B complex vitamins support liver enzymes and promote liver regeneration. Additionally, the nucleoside uridine supports liver detoxification, as does NAC.
